My interest for this piece was to visually represent multiple states of anxiety, introspection, and disassociation (particularly as associated with recent cultural events in America) layering, overlapping, and superimposing these states upon one another, so as to amplify a general atmosphere of confusion, indecision, helplessness, conflict, and resignation without giving any particular state or affect any definitive precedence over the others. Rapidly advancing social technology (combined now with tumultuous world events and divisive political tensions) have, for many, destabilized their sense of a singular and stable personal identity. Triptych is a continuation of my interest in this particular theme.
