The Cephalopod or Octopus is an amazing creature known for its ability to change color through the use of chromataphores in its skin. It can aslo manipulate its body to disguise its physical form and can squeeze through any opening large enough to fit their beak.  Octopus are assumed to be very smart based on testing their ability to problem solve. They have enough neurons in each arm to be considered as having nine brains. The one true brain is located in their body close to the eyes. They also have three hearts which pump blue blood.
 
This sculpture is a depiction of a defensive posture in which the octopus will tuck its arms close to its body to prevent predators from biting them off in an attack. It also represents my respect for the octopus and the amazing creatures they are.
