jeff nentrup
Jeffrey Nentrup originally hails from the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, California. In 1999 he attended the Art Center College Of Design in Pasadena on scholarship, receiving a BFA with Distinction in Illustration in 2002. Upon graduating, his skills and work ethic lead to a globally successful career in commercial illustration and concept design working for top industry clients such as Universal Pictures, Dreamworks SKG, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Random House/Penguin Books, Harper Collins, NASA and many more.
In addition to having taught figure painting classes for the Los Angeles Academy Of Figurative Art and Red Engine Studios, his extensive outdoor landscape painting and live portraiture have provided the artist with a wide range of subjects and authenticity in his work.
In 2012, after nearly 10 years in the commercial art ranks Jeffrey and his wife, fellow artist Sonya Palencia, relocated to a secluded ranch in the mountains above Los Angeles to pursue a deeper connection with his first love…oil painting. Working full-time in their studio deep within the Los Padres National Forest has not only been a constant source of inspiration and subject matter for the couple but has also served as an enclave to an extended group of renowned artists, with the location also appearing in the works of notable painters such as Sean Cheetham, Natalia Fabia, and Jeremy Lipking.
